Ryan White is a certified and licensed massage therapist that specializes in deep tissue, neuromuscular and myofascial release. He provides solution-based treatments to help clients with injuries and chronic problems. This allows him to help his clients find a solution to their issue with massage and movement therapies. The soft tissue techniques that he uses relieve congested muscles by breaking down scar tissue, open and flush out trigger points, and increase circulation to specific areas. These techniques also give more space in joints so that they have increased freedom of movement. Ryan believes that massage and movement in combination are a very effective way to alleviate pain, increase range of motion, develop proper body awareness, move more efficiently and provide an overall sense of well being.
Even though Ryan focuses his work on joint specific issues he sees the body as a whole and encourages full body awareness. He encourages clients to understand and practice good biomechanics. Once faulty movement patterns are identified and corrected the whole body benefits. The benefits come by not wasting energy on inefficient movement and by changing reflex patterns to stimulate proper postural balance. Postural balance organizes the body so that it will work with gravity. Without this, it is constantly being stressed and fights against gravity which can cause many soft tissue problems. Ryan believes this can help one feel strong and confident while at work or doing daily tasks and functional movement.
Ryan graduated from the Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado(MTIC) in 1995. While there he received a letter of Honorable Mention for excellence in the study and practice of integrative massotherapy. He continued his massage training at MTIC by taking a two year program that focused on joint specific myofascial release, Chinese movement and energy techniques, structural balancing through a ten session model based on the Rolfing ideas, and movement therapies to encourage proper/efficient movement. Ryan also holds a BA in Adult Fitness and Exercise Science from Metropolitan State College of Denver. He furthered his education in movement therapies by becoming a Pilates instructor through the PhysicalMind Institute.
Yamuna® Body Rolling™
Health, Fitness & Massage rolled into one!
Yamuna® Body Rolling™ is a revolutionary approach to health and fitness using balls designed exclusively for this practice. It consists of a series of routines using 6 to 10-inch balls. Unlike other ball exercises, YBR® goes far beyond random movement and stretch. It allows you to work specific muscles in detail, to create suppleness in tight areas and optimize range of motion. It is a wonderful complement to your Pilates workouts at the studio.
Yamuna® Body Rolling™ reeducates muscles and stimulates bone, creating positive, permanent changes in the body.
Pilates Denver Studio offers weekly classes as well as YBR® Workshops taught by Gwyneth Jones, founder of Body in Freedom. Please view class schedule for specific days and times.

I am a proud mother of two. I am passionate about helping people of all ages to experience the wonderful benefits I receive through bodywork, such as Yamuna Body Rolling.
While fitness has long been a priority for me, I began experiencing the unique value of mind-body exercise when I began doing Pilates in 1995 following the birth of my son in England. While living with my husband and children in Russia, I also enjoyed other forms of exercise and dance, and began to teach Pilates at the international school where my children attended. I then began studies in fitness training and began pursuing certification as a personal trainer.
Upon returning to the United States (to Littleton, Colorado) in 2007, I continued my studies, obtaining certification as a personal trainer from the American Council on Exercise (ACE). I then obtained certification in mat Pilates from Body Arts and Science International (BASI). More recently, I discovered the amazing benefits of Yamuna Body Rolling, and underwent training in Vancouver and New York City, where I received certification as an official practitioner.
I began *Body in Freedom* in 2010 as a means of helping more people achieve significant improvements in their wellbeing and health. I enjoy volunteering, as well, and have taught Pilates and Yamuna Body at the Colorado Center for the Blind.
I hope to be able to work with *you* to help you to experience the freedom that comes with a healthy mind and body!
